Deeper Thought: An Invitation to Logic and Critical Thinking is a textbook designed for introductory courses in logic and critical thinking for absolute beginners with no prior experience.

So, this book is a genuine invitation. I have written it with the absolute novice in mind. First, it is relatively short and condensed, and I have tried to not introduce too many concepts in each of the chapters. Second, I have written the book in a mostly conversational style with liberal use of humor and stories to make many of my points. And third, I have included many exercises that give the student ample practice in developing critical thinking skills. After all, philosophy is not a spectator sport.
