Overview of
Crosscultural Theory and Practice

Discovery

This text is something I have thought about for many years. The idea and concept of understanding diversity, race, bias, etc. is a topic that is needed in our current state of affairs. My diversity classes are some of my favorite classes as I enjoy the concept of different backgrounds and ideas of students and learning from one another. I also enjoy exposing my students to new ideas and concepts and historical  themes and facts, so they can share with their friends and families. My hope is that with each class I am able to embed seeds of discovery and knowledge and help to encourage a community of understanding and support that grows every semester. I want learning to be a process of self discovery, new knowledge and expansion of ideas and most of all fun!

As you go through this text, each chapter moves into a different area of oppression and how it presents in our country today. I hope you enjoy this text as you move through this class and it helps you to understand and empathize even more with your fellow students and other citizens.
