It is challenging for students to be successful in their endeavors without a solid foundation of math concepts and number sense. With that in mind, I wrote this book to help students build confidence and understanding of everyday mathematical ideas. In addition to a conversational writing tone and a focus on conceptual understanding, this text's layout and presentation style are unique and engaging. Navigating the layout is simple and user friendly. Scrolling through the topics, students will easily find themselves absorbed in the material through the interactive graphics and video content. Problems and exercises are engaging and relevant to today’s student and apply to their everyday lives. Focus is less on mathematical ability and more on critical thinking skills.
As a “math appreciation” text book, this layout places special emphasis on practical understanding using various math topics that can range from probability to divisibility. The goal is to help students develop the ability to be more analytical, critical, and logical in their thinking. Achieving these goals will provide students with greater capacity for confident and independent thought.
