Gerard LaMorte

Gerard A. LaMorte III, Psy.D., LPC, NCC is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Psychology at Rutgers University in Newark, N.J. Dr. LaMorte has an academic background in clinical psychology and is also a practicing licensed professional counselor and national certified counselor. He has a B.A. in Psychology, a M.A. in Applied Clinical Psychology, and a Psy.D. in Holistic Psychology. Prior to joining the faculty at Rutgers-Newark, Dr. LaMorte’s clinical experience includes working at a residential group home for those with chronic mental illness; an intake clinician for a psychiatric hospital’s evaluation and referral center; and was an outpatient clinician with a caseload of 120 clients specializing in individual, couple, marriage, and family therapy. His academic area of interest and specialties are abnormal and clinical psychology, and he also teaches other clinically relevant courses. In his spare time, he is authoring a vampire novel.
