I wrote this textbook because I wanted to have an interactive tool that would allow you to fully explore the realities of working with diverse family types. Often, textbooks written about working with diverse populations are filled with stereotypes that do not fully describe the strengths of such populations. This text is designed to get you think about the strengths of working with a multitude of different family types. A large part of the activities in this text require you to reflect deeply on your perceptions and your experiences so that you can gain a better understanding of who you are in relation to working with diverse groups.
