An Introduction to Music is a comprehensive resource covering the fundamentals of notation, specialized vocabulary, texture, and basic structural concepts in music. Complete with music notation, images, graphs, MP3s, video links, review of key terms, and end of chapter quizzes, the course is an ideal choice for students without any prior knowledge in the subject, or for those desiring a thorough review in preparation for more advanced studies. The course received the Wall of COOL (Celebrating Outstanding Opportunities for Learning) award at Cal Poly Pomona for its exemplary use of technology to enhance student learning and success.
Vernon Snyder has performed collaborative and solo piano concerts throughout the United States, Korea, Taiwan, and live on radio. His collaborative work includes frequent performances with the vocal duo Duetto and piano four-hands repertoire with the Lin-Snyder Duo. He appears frequently throughout the Los Angeles area as a collaborative pianist, including work with artists from the LA Master Chorale and LA Opera. Dr. Snyder has served on the piano faculty at Pomona College, and currently lectures in the Music Department at CSU Pomona
