Dr. Kevin Weakley, an Ohio native, is a geography professor at NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) in Bentonville. He holds a Ph.D. from Western Michigan University and M.S. and B.S. degrees from Ohio State University. Prior to teaching at NWACC, Dr. Weakley taught geography courses at universities and community colleges in the states of Ohio and Michigan. Dr. Weakley teaches human geography, physical geography, and world regional geography. His academic interests include spatial thinking and geography education. He published an entry in Encyclopedia of Global Resources (2010). He is a member of the National Council for Geographic Education and advocates geography awareness.

In his courses at NWACC, Dr. Weakley enhances students’ critical thinking with discussions and activities related to contemporary issues in geography. He is the author of a new textbook Human Geography: Global and Community Discussions - an engaging and interactive learning resource for college students.

In addition to teaching geography, he enjoys running 5K races, collecting vinyl records, and spending time with his son. He lives in Northwest Arkansas.
