Dr. Cynthia Heddlesten earned her MA in Sociology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. In 2023 she started her Ph.D. program in Education for Social Justice at the University of San Diego, in order to continue her life's work to study how people interact and what emerges from those interactions.​In "The Social World Unmasked", Cynthina guides her students to question assumptions and spot the real dynamics driving our social realities. From analyzing core sociological concepts like culture, socialization, and deviance, to examining stratification across race, class, and gender lines, Cynthia equips us to be keen observers. Her aim is to kindle a sense of wonder about the hidden forces that shape our world.​
