Dr. Philip Tew is an Associate Professor of Finance, Director for the Center of Economic Education and Financial Literacy, and the Director of the Scarlet to Black Financial Literacy Program at Arkansas State University – Jonesboro.

Dr. Tew holds an undergraduate degree in Finance, Banking, and General Business, an MBA, a Master of Taxation, a law degree, and a PhD in Finance from the University of Mississippi. Dr. Tew teaches Microeconomics, Personal Finance, and Wealth Management. He is married to the former Kerry O’Meara who teaches First Year Experience Courses to all incoming first year A-State College of Business students.

When Dr. Tew is not annoying his wife with what she deems to be bad jokes (Dr. Tew disagrees), he is typically enjoying good bbq, a refreshing Diet Dr. Pepper, and talking (and sharing his jokes) to students from the 4th grade through college around the region about the importance of economic and financial literacy.
